No more "hidden gem". I've seen this phrase thrown around so much of late, it's getting really dry. Besides Singapore's just so damn big, how "hidden" can any place be? 

I've described places as such before so...guilty as charged (with my hands held high in disgrace), but word of The Glasshouse's been spreading before they've even opened their doors...

Aside from Google, not many would expect a corporate headquarters to have the best dining options. A decent cafeteria, few chain restaurants and fast food eateries are usually more than one can ask for - so it was an immense surprise to hear about a great Peranakan café-restaurant located smack on the upper floors of Pico Creative Centre.

A key characteristic of most recent café-restaurants seem to be immense inaccessibility. That pretty much too describes The Refinery. Tucked deep in the industrial park along King George's Avenue, nestled among mechanic stores and garrages, one wouldn't take the 15 minute walk from Lavender MRT station unless specifically looking out for it....
